Our Story
"There is an easier way to do things. You just need to find it."
Will Barton — Founder
Who Is Will Barton
An operator, not a consultant.
Will Barton has spent more than 20 years inside medical, wellness, and fitness businesses — not advising them from a slide deck, but opening them, staffing them, and running them. Across his career he has opened and operated 50+ locations in 8 states.
His edge has never been complicated: build great teams, design simple systems anyone can execute, and train relentlessly. Every business he's built runs on that formula — and it's the same one he now installs for clients.
The Track Record
From first location to PE exit.
The short version of two decades — every step of it operating, not observing.
Learning the business by running the business.
Two decades in the medical, wellness, and fitness industries — opening and managing 50+ locations across 8 states for multi-location companies. Team building, training programs, and operational systems, learned where it counts: on the floor.
Founded Options Medical Weight Loss.
Left the corporate world to launch and fund a medical weight loss company from zero. Architected the brand, built the operational and sales systems, designed the Options Diet System, negotiated vendor agreements, and assembled the HR and marketing teams that powered its growth.
Turned it into a franchise.
Personally wrote the Franchise Disclosure Document and built the franchise system from the ground up. Options expanded across multiple states and became one of the largest privately held medical weight loss companies in the United States.
Full exit to private equity.
Completed a full exit from Options Medical Weight Loss — the outcome most founders in this space aim for and few reach. Proof that the systems weren't dependent on the founder: they were built to run without him.
MyGevity & Will Barton Ventures.
Founder and CEO of MyGevity, and through Will Barton Ventures: building new companies, operating clinics as a consultant or fractional COO/CEO for a select group of clients, and investing in the businesses worth scaling.
Why It Matters To You
Advice from someone who has done it.
Most consultants have studied businesses like yours. Will has built, franchised, and exited one. When he tells you where your front desk is leaking leads or why your training doesn't survive turnover, it's not theory — it's the same playbook that took one clinic from an idea to a national company.
That's also why Will Barton Ventures only takes on a few engagements at a time: operators go deep, not wide.
